JARED BAKER ’11, a two-time (2009-2010) Serra League Most Valuable Offensive Player and Loyola’s MVP in 2010, rushed for 2,605 career yards for the Cubs. Following his senior campaign at the University of Arizona, Baker signed a free agent contract with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals on Saturday. Baker’s Loyola teammate, safety LEE HIGHTOWER ’11, who had a banner senior campaign in the secondary for the University of Houston, has been invited to try out for the NFL’s Houston Texans.
Former Serra League Most Valuable Offensive Player ANTHONY BARR ‘10, who went on to become the Lott IMPACT Trophy winner and a consensus All-American linebacker at UCLA, is now a starting outside linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings. All-CIF safety CHRIS CONTE ’07 was a starting safety for several seasons with the Chicago Bears and is now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
